Be gentle to the tenaculum, and it will be gentle to your patient.
While offering significant potential advantages, the advanced composite material of the single-use Tenaculum 356T requires different handling from its stainless steel counterpart:
Make sure the single-use Tenaculum 356T grasps adequate tissue, a larger bite than that required with traditional stainless steel tenaculums. |
| |
Flexible arms allow the tips to travel along the path of least resistance.
In typical use, the tips will not come together. |
| |
Lock the instrument.
When the ratchet is fully closed, compress the tabs straight downward to lock in proper position. |
| |
Apply slow, gentle traction.
Rapid motion will cause the arms to flex and the tenaculum to release the tissue. |
| |
Unlock the single-use Tenaculum 356T without twisting.
Pull straight up on the handle of the tenaculum at the base of the tabs to release. |
